Yabbies’ success outlined at sports dinner

Cobar Men’s Swimming Club (Yabbies) president Ian Settree gave a brief outline on the achievements of the 2007/2008 season at last Saturday’s Cobar Bowling and Golf Club’s sports dinner.

Yabbies 2007/2008 Five-Way Swim at Forbes 2007:

50m President’s Trophy: first Ian Settree; 30m handicap: first Bob Clark; 10 x 50m handicap relay: first Cobar.

Western Districts AIF Championships hosted by Cobar:

30m handicap: first Bill Fugar; 50m handicap: first Murray Harland; 4 x 50m scratch relay: first Cobar (Stu Harland, Greg Clark, Scott Toomey and Murray Harland).

Australian AIF Championships at Goondiwindi (430 competitors):

4 x 50m Ray Weekes handicap relay: first Cobar (Scott Toomey, Ian Settree, Matt and Murray Harland).

30m open handicap: second John Carswell; 100m open handicap: third Stu Harland; 60-64years 50m championship: third Bob Clark.

2007/2008 club champions:

30m handicap: Murray Harland; 50m handicap: Bill Fugar; 100m handicap Bill Fugar.

Point score: first Bill Fugar, second Murray Harland , third John Carswell.

Five-Way Swim, Nelson Bay, November 2008: President’s trophy: first Ian Settree; 30m open handicap: third John Carswell; 50m open handicap: first Bob Clark; 50m open championship: third Brad Howell.
