Fifteen members of Cobar Clay Target Club competed in the October monthly shoot in Cobar under warm conditions.
The first event, a 20-target eye- opener saw Karen Manns win C Grade with 18/20 and Hank Pritchard, John Polack and Dick Tulloh share B Grade with 19/20.
Gary Jones won A Grade with 20/20 and Rob and Ben Machul shared AA Grade with 20/20.
A 30-target mixed event was the next on the program with new member Tony Rogers leading the way in C Grade. Hank Pritchard won B Grade, Gary Jones won A Grade and Rob and Ben Machul again shared AA Grade.
The last event for the day was a Handicap with a possible score of 32. Ross Morris was the only shooter to shoot the complete 32, James Manns and Rob Machul each had a score of 30. After a short shoot-off James won second place and Rob third. High guns were: C Grade Karen Manns, B Grade Hank Pritchard, A Grade Ross Morris and AA Grade Rob Machul.
Quite a few members attended the NSW State Carnival at Wagga Wagga over the long weekend and again Cobar members featured in the winner’s circle.
Jim Manns was a member of the three-man veterans Western Zone team that placed first in the Zone competition.
Rob Thompson also won the NSW State Champion Trophy.
The next club shoot will be held on Sunday November 8, commencing at 1pm.
Rob Thompson, Bryan Manns, Ben Machul, Glen Castellaro and Ross Walsh were all members of the 15 man NSW State Postal Team and Rob Thompson, Ross Walsh and Bryan Manns are all members of the 5 man State team to compete at the National Titles early next year.
Rob Thompson also won the NSW State Champion Trophy.
The next Club shoot will be held on Sunday November 8, commencing at 1pm..
