Ex-Wallaby to visit town

20 Jan, 2010 02:20 PM
Cobar Rugby Union Club will host a spectacular luncheon with special guest Wallaby ‘legend’ John Eales on Thursday February 18.

“Because of the enormity of the John Eales’ presence, the Cobar Rugby Club has undertaken to make the luncheon something upmarket

and special,” organiser Peter Payne said on Monday.

“The luncheon itself will consist of a chef-prepared three-course meal to be quaffed with quality Hunter wines, and will start at noon.

“It will be a sit-down affair with table service, and invitations will be sent out this week but the event is not invitation only.

“John Eales is visiting not just the Cobar Rugby Club but the town itself, so all townspeople are invited.

“Bookings can be made at the Cobar Memorial Services.”

Mr Paynes said that far from being a ‘stuck-up megastar’, Mr Eales is renowned for having a yarn to anybody and everybody, and if you would like something autographed, you should feel free to just ask him.
