South Sydney stars to meet with local juniors

03 Feb, 2010 04:01 PM
Cobar Junior League will host a visit next Wednesday from South Sydney stars under the NRL Community Carnival 2010 program at Ward Oval from 10am.

Local juniors will receive a sample bag, courtesy of the carnival organisers, poster giveaways and autographs signed by the visiting stars.

As part of the program the players will promote the ‘Eat Well, Play Well and Stay Well’ giving youngsters information on all aspects of being fit for sports.

The contingent of Souths stars includes Beau Champion, Luke Capewell, Brendan Barnes and Kane Morgan who will hold clinics in Bourke next Tuesday and two players will travel to Brewarrina while the other two will be in Cobar.

Cobar Junior Rugby League is looking forward to a successful 2010 season as last year four players in the Under 15’s made the Group 14 representative team, which is a massive feat due to the distance they had to travel to trial, train and play.

Two of Cobar’s three junior teams made the finals, showcasing the talent from the region.

All players and rugby league supporters are encouraged to come down to Ward Oval next Wednesday.
