Cobar’s B-grade side again proved why they are on top, remaining undefeated in the Northern Riverina netball league competition.
The girls took on Ungarie at Ungarie defeating them 43-27.
With fantastic movement throughout the court and great ball skills, the girls were unbeatable.
A good combination of Nicole Snudden and Ellie Russell in the goal ring was spot on and they hit nothing but net.
The defensive end was rotated all game and proved to be too strong for Ungarie with various intercepts and turnovers allowing Cobar to score.
With a tough and fit centre-court line-up, the girls remained calm and focused which made the game flow in Cobar’s favour.
Snudden shot a grand 29 goals securing her spot for coach’s award.
Not being able to split the excellent form of Brittany Fugar and Amy (“Trev”) McConville throughout the game, both girls shared honours of Players’ Player.
A-grade
A-grade was unlucky this week with Ungarie the better team on the day defeating them 59-43. With an injury occurring in the first few minutes Cobar had to regather and focus on handling the changes well. Captain Tanya Huon in centre kept the team alive with her positive talking throughout the game. Lisa Spinks stepped up into GA and teamed well with Lane Poland in GS. Brittany Fugar stepped up into A-grade as the WA and adapted well to her position. With great defensive work from Vanessa Kurta in GK and Amie Jacklin in GD, with Demi Smith in WD providing great back up.
With Ungarie’s accurate game they remained too good for Cobar.
With stand out skills, Lisa Spinks collected coaches award and Demi Smith collected Players’ Player honours.
This week should be a good one to watch with the blues having a home game taking on Hillston.
