Hectic weekend for busy Cobar bowlers

14 Oct, 2009 02:02 PM
At last we have a chance to relax again after such a hectic weekend of events at the Cobar Bowling and Golf Club and our small contribution of bowls.

Last Thursday the ‘regular eight’ rolled up for the Golden Oldies event, resulting in a win for Bill Dickson and Rod Leahy on 13 points after a count back from Sid Fugar and Bob Clark.

The Dollar Run on Sunday attracted a small field again, with Bill Dickson leading for Howard Pretty to collect the dollars with a score of plus-25 from runners-up Ian O’Hearn and Allan Strange with plus-14.

A warm welcome to Howard, infrequent visitor from Adelaide, but this year I believe he is not staying for the CCI Triples.

Important notice for those players in the Club Championship events still awaiting completion.

Play-by dates are now featured on the board with the notice, play or forfeit and no extensions under any circumstances.

Triples played by October 25 and Fours played by November 2 - so please don’t wait until the last day.

Kontest Korner shows a return to form for John O’Brien with 20 points to collect the $30 pool (more lucky tipsters required to boost the pool).

The 3-Up competition was not won, so now jackpots to $105 this Saturday.
