The weather held out for the playing of the International Bowl event last Wednesday after a number of postponements.
Janet Place, with 73 nett, was the winner while Gloria Hay was runner-up (76 nett) followed by Janine Ryan on a countback from Rachel Kennedy both recording 80 nett. Janet Place also won the putting competition with 24 putts.
Saturday’s fourth round of the WGNSW Monthly Medal was won by Rachel Kennedy (71 nett) with a three-way tussle for the runners-up Gloria Hay, Robynne Morton and Jannine Wilkin who all carded 77 nett scores.
Susan Wyllie was next on 78 nett and also had a great day with the putter taking only 23 putts for the 18 holes.
The ladies Foursomes Championships were held on Sunday over 27 holes and while the scores weren’t too good the laughs on the course were.
Scratch winners were Fay Hardwick and Janine Ryan (134 nett) with runners-up Janet Place and Chrissy Grammer (139 nett).
The Barb Barklimore and Gloria Hay team were the nett winners (encouraged all the way from their opponents) scoring 111 3/4, followed by the pairing of Sally Bannister and Di McLeod 115 3/4.
Nearest the pin winners were Brenda Fugar/Angela Fryer, Sally Bannister/Di McLeod, Janine Ryan/ Fay Hardwick and Chrissy Grammer/Janet Place teams.
A ball competition was played in conjunction with the championship and the winners of this event were Gloria Hay and Barb Barklimore followed by the Narelle Green/Robynne Morton and Gerry Francisco/Jackie Smith combinations.
Today the fourth round of the WGNSW Monthly Medal continues.
This Friday sees the Narromine ladies pennants team travel to Cobar which hopefully will see a reverse of the results that were posted at the Narromine course.
Saturday’s mixed Foursomes has an early start of 10am so get your partners organised for that one.
A par event is set down for Sunday as well as the Tottenham Open which will see the bus leave at 6am from the club.
