Francisco wins Stroke event

The Stroke event held last Wednesday saw Geraldine Francisco break her handicap after a wonderful nett 69 score. Chrissy Grammer came in next with nett 71 followed by Pam Sikora on a count back from sister Sally Bannister, both having a nett 73 card. Pam Sikora also won the putting prize with 25 putts.

A good field of lady golfers took to the course for the staging of the NSW Veterans Sandgreen Championships over the weekend. The overall winner of the 36-hole Stableford was Lou Thompson from Coonabarabran with Kay Hobbs from Quirindi the runner-up. Sally Bannister took third position. Vi McLachlan was Saturday’s winner followed by Helen Snodgrass (Kurri Kurri), Margret Smith (Orange Ex Services), Barb Barklimore and Anne Dunn.

Nearest the pins went to Angela Fryer, Fay Hardwick, Helen Snodgrass and Rosalie Saddler.

Sunday’s individual round was an all Cobar affair with Glenis Prisk taking home the winner’s prize. Angela Fryer was the runner-up followed by Di McLeod, Pam Sikora and Fay Hardwick. Nearest the pins were won by Barb Barklimore, Di McLeod, Rosalie Saddler and Kay Hobbs.

Today will be a Stableford game with CCI Day (stroke) to be played on Saturday. A 4BBB Stableford is set down for Sunday.
