Last weekend Emily Claxton and Samantha Hyde competed at the Warren Pony Club’s competition.
On Saturday the girls contested the dressage competition and show riding events.
Emily and her horse ‘Roxy’ placed third and fourth in the two preliminary dressage tests they entered, and Sam and ‘Ravi’ placed first in both their tests and was named novice champion.
The show riding was held in the afternoon with both girls placing in many events including the bareback riding class which was very amusing for the onlookers.
Samantha was champion in the 12 to 14 years age group.
Sunday saw the girls riding in three jumping competitions and a mixture of sporting events where Sam and ‘Ravi’ placed first, third and fifth in the E grade showjumping competitions and Emily and ‘Roxy’ placed first and fifth in two of their classes.
The sporting events were hotly contested and both girls did very well for Cobar.
At the end of the Sunday, Samantha was awarded E Grade showjumping championship with Emily close on her heels to be named as reserve champion.
