They were Ben and William Griffiths, Taylah and Jacob Good, Ethan and Taylor Gilbert, with all qualifying for Regionals at Finlay (with the exception of Ben who cannot go any further).

Ben Griffiths received a Bronze Medal for the 100m and a Silver Medal for the 70m (I’d like Ben to come up and receive his medals).

The results for the carnival are as follows:

William was placed 1st in U/8 Shot Put

Ethan 3rd 100m, 2nd 400m, 3rd Long Jump (PB), and 1st 200m

Taylah Good 2nd in 60m Hurdles, 1st 400m, 3rd High Jump

Jacob Good 1st 400m (PB of 8 seconds which is exceptional), 3rd High Jump, 1st Shot Put.

Taylor Gilbert 1st 100m, 3rd Shot Put, 1st Long Jump, 1st Triple Jump, 2nd High Jump and 1st 200m (PB).

All six athletes competed and behaved very well over the weekend showing great sportsmanship.

William couldn’t compete on the second day due to illness and Ethan competed fighting a cold.

I would like to give a big thank you to Heather and Claudine for their assistance with the high jump for both days.

All in all a good weekend was had by all. I was very proud of the children and their performance, especially with a few PBs recorded by the athletes.

Cobar maybe holding the zone carnival next year and there will be more information provided at a later date when possible.
