Cobar will be represented at a Western NSW Health Forum attended by NSW Health Minister Jillian Skinner.
Councillor Peter Yench will be in Dubbo tomorrow for the forum where Mrs Skinner will hear suggestions on how health in the west can be improved.
The minister wants to hear from everyone, including clinicians, health workers, patients, carers and everyday citizens of the region.
Interested parties who can’t attend the event are being offered the opportunity to send their questions into the Western NSW Local Health District.
Mrs Skinner is hoping to find answers on how health services in Western NSW can be more focused on patients.
“The NSW government is committed to revolving decision-making closer to patients,” read an open invitation to the forum penned by Mrs Skinner.
“The forum is part of that commitment to local decision-making in health, as well as real engagement with clinicians, health workers, patients, carers and communities in regional NSW.”
Mrs Skinner has advised that the forum will be “interactive”.
“You are invited to table suggestions, ideas and innovations that highlight what the health services in Western NSW do really well and what can be done better,” she said in the statement.
The minister will be accompanied to the forum by Dubbo MP Troy Grant and NSW Mental Health Minister and Barwon MP Kevin Humphries.
Parliamentary Secretary for Regional Health Melinda Pavey, NSW Health Director-General Dr Mary Foley, and chair of the Western NSW Local Health District Dr Robin Williams.
