Farewell to long-time VIEW Club stalwart

Farewell to long-time VIEW Club stalwart

27 May, 2009 04:37 PM
President Lesley Fryer welcomed members to the May meeting of Cobar VIEW held at the Empire Hotel function room last Tuesday.

She especially greeted new members Lilian Simpson and Margaret Thomas, and a number of friends invited for the day.

Tribute was paid to Maureen Yates who is leaving Cobar to be with her family in Orange. During her 15 years of service to VIEW she was president for three years, secretary for seven-and-a-half years, treasurer for three years, assistant secretary for one year and publicity officer for six months.

She will be sorely missed by the club and the many shared friendships.

Maureen presented the club with a beautiful photo album.

Narda Armstrong was presented with her 10-year service badge by Lesley Fryer.

After a delicious lunch the ladies enjoyed a fashion parade compared by Tonette Martin, owner of RYEC boutique.

A wide selection of clothing was modelled by Denise Kosef, Val O’Brien, Margaret Potter, Glenis Prisk, Mary Madden and Jean Poulter.

Special thanks to chief organiser program officer Barbara Bartlett and helper on the day Angela Fryer.

The lucky door prize was won by Colleen Bruce and the monthly raffle by Cec Wells.
