Cobar Arts Council will host a visit from the Presbyterian Ladies’ College of Armidale next Wednesday evening at the Bowling and Golf Club.
As part of their Outback Music Tour the school will be bringing a string quartet, string orchestra, chamber orchestra and jazz band for the local community to enjoy.
“Residents and particularly children will love the diverse music extravaganza,” President of Cobar Arts Council Mark Ingram said.
“Only a gold coin donation at the door for an outstanding musical feast.”
The girls will be playing music ranging from Mozart to ABBA and hope that the communities they visit will be able to take advantage of these concerts to promote local activities or organisations.
As a social service activity the girls will be giving their time and talents for free and have in fact paid their own way on this tour.
Many of the girls are multi-instrumentalists and vocalists so don’t be surprised if you see them swapping from the violin or viola to the saxophone.
PLC Armidale is very proud of its long music tradition and we are looking forward to visiting Cobar and sharing our love of music making with you.
In Cobar, the concert will benefit the local Arts Council branch to be held in the Golf Club auditorium on Wednesday evening July 1 at 7.30pm.
