Works finishing before festive season

18 Nov, 2009 02:10 PM
Cobar Shire Council has advised the contractor to wind up the main street beautification works for the year on November 28.

“The site will be cleaned up and the barrier fencing removed,” special projects officer Angela Shepherd told the Cobar Age.

“This is to ensure there is no disruption to Christmas trade during the festive season.

“The contractor has advised council that pavers will be laid this week and again at the end of the month.

“Works are scheduled to resume in 2010.”

The 2009 Cobar Business Association Christmas party will be held on Saturday December 5.

There will be heaps of entertainment for the whole family with Baron Twistnpop, jumping castle, stalls, carols, street entertainment, information displays and much more.

Santa will arrive and be available for photographs.

The local shops will have Christmas specials galore and lots of ideas for even the hardest person to buy for.
