Find puts Nymagee on map

03 Feb, 2010 02:58 PM
Nymagee mining and exploration company YTC Resource’s recent discovery of a second new copper-gold lens close to its potentially rich Hera gold and base-metal deposit, has been described as “particularly exciting and typical of the gold-copper mineralisation observed at Cobar’s world-class Peak Gold Mine”.

YTC chief executive officer Rimas Kairaitis said the previously undiscovered copper-gold lens located on the western margin of the Hera Main Lens has returned promising mineralisation and follow-up drilling is planned to test the resource.

Confirmation of the new copper-gold lens follows YTC’s discovery during November last year, of another potentially rich gold and base metal anomaly 1.5km south of the Hera deposit.

The similarly-sized anomaly has also been defined as a high-priority drill target with planning underway to determine the extent of mineralisation.

Follow-up drilling at Zeus and the new gold-copper lens has been planned to be completed as part of YTC’s current exploration program.

A new mining era for the historic Cobar Shire village of Nymagee is now certain with YTC confident of additional lens discovery and the potential for a large Cobar-style gold base metal system.

“A previously undiscovered copper-gold lens located on the western margin of the Hera Main Lens has been intercepted by drilling,” Mr Kairaitis reported.

“The new lens appears to open to the north and plunge for about 300m. Follow up drilling has now been planned to test the northern strike extension of this new lens as part of the current drilling program.

“The recognition of a new, copper-gold lens is considered particularly exciting, and more typical of the of the gold-copper mineralisation observed at the world-class Peak Gold Mine, located 100km along strike to the north-west.”
